What the figures mean

Reserve money includes currency and deposits with the RBI. This monetary aggregate does not show how much cash is available to individual households.

Reserve money differs from broad money. Growth in reserve money alone cannot establish household access to cash.

Reserve money stood at 5,324,881 crore rupees on 15 October 2026. The RBI printed annual growth of 10.3 per cent for that date.

Read each release against its reference date. A stock is the amount recorded at that date; a change measures movement over an interval. These measures therefore answer different questions.

Published annual growth increased across these five reference dates.

Each line uses the source issue named beside it. The fortnight change is the change printed in that issue. Earlier snapshots may use different vintages, so subtracting their levels cannot replace the printed change.

These aggregates do not identify individual borrowers or measure lending costs. A claim about access therefore needs separate evidence.

Monetary levels remain in rupees crore, the units printed by the RBI. Percentage figures keep the published decimal precision. No forecast supplies a figure for the coming release.

Check the original of the coming release and use its heading to establish the reference date. The date when the issue was released cannot establish that date on its own.
